SRK to gift BMW 7 series cars to RA.One co-stars Arjun and Rajinikanth, and director Sinha

G.One might have failed to become a successful superhero, but he still is a super 'friend'. Shah Rukh Khan, who is known for his generous gifting, has recently ordered five brand new BMW 7 series sedans for those who helped him make RA.One.
According to sources, the list of lucky recipients of this extremely expensive gift includes Arjun Rampal, who played the title role, director Anubhav Sinha and the south Indian superstar Rajinikanth, who made a cameo appearance in the film.
A source informed Mumbai Mirror, “Shah Rukh has decided to gift one of the five BMW to Anubhav Sinha. One car will go to Arjun Rampal. Since Rajinikanth flew down to Mumbai to shoot specially for his cameo in the film, he'll get one car.”
“There are two more people on the gift list. However, no one is aware of SRK's plans. The cars have already been booked with a local dealer. Once the delivery comes through, the gifts will be on their way,” added the source.
Talking about the actor's previous generous gifts, the source said, “Shah Rukh has always been a generous friend. Earlier, he had gifted Farah Khan a Hyundai Terracan during the making if Main Hoon Na. He even gifted her a Mercedes during Om Shanti Om.”

Anubhav Sinha, who will very soon be the lucky owner of a BMW 7 series sedan, currently needs a phone more than a car. The filmmaker, while travelling in Los Angeles, lost his mobile. What's worse, the man who has found Sinha's phone is chatting to all the contacts on his list posing to be the filmmaker.
Not too happy with the situation, Anubhav Sinha said, “I was in LA for the screening of RA.One and I stayed back since I wanted a break. While visiting a friend's place, I left my phone in the cab. After I returned to India, I was talking to this friend who told me that he had been chatting with me all this while. Which was impossible since I did not have my phone.”
“On Wednesday, Shah Rukh told me that he spoke to me on chat. I was shocked. I don't know what to do about it now. I don't know who the guy is. There are so many actors on my chat list. I just hope this person doesn't do anything stupid using my name,” added the filmmaker.

The makers of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Don-2 -- The King is Back', which has got embroiled in the copyright issue, maintain that they have not done anything wrong.
'Don 2 -- The King is Back', an action thriller, is a sequel to director Farhan Akhtar's earlier film 'Don -- The Chase Begins' (2006), which itself was a remake of the Amitabh -starrer 'Don' (1978).
Nariman Films, the producers of the original 1978-hit film 'Don', have sent a legal notice to Excel Entertainment for copyright infringement, saying that they had only given the right to remake the movie and no rights to make a sequel.
The producers of the original 'Don' have reportedly alleged that the sequel has infringed upon their original copyright. "About the notice from the original producers of Don', be rest assured that we have done nothing wrong and shall stick to the correct legal and moral principals," producer Ritesh Sidhwani wrote on twitter.
Produced by Excel Entertainment Pvt Ltd, the film is will release on December 23.

Superstar Rajinikanth might not have demanded any remuneration for his cameo in Shah Rukh Khan's 'Ra. One'. But the King Khan of Bollywood is planning to pay something in return to the gesture of the top star and also other 'Ra.One' members, if a section of media were to be believed.
As per reports, SRK, who is known for his generous nature, has recently ordered 5 brand new BMW 7 series sedans for those who helped him make 'Ra One', including Rajini, Arjun Rampal and director Anubhav Sinha.
"Shah Rukh has decided to gift one of the five BMW to Anubhav Sinha. One car will go to Arjun Rampal. Since Rajinikanth flew down to Mumbai especially for his cameo in the film, Shahrukh will gift a BMW 7 Series to him as well," a source was quoted saying.
It is yet to be revealed who will get the remaining two cars of SRK. Apparently, SRK is known for his generosity among friends. Earlier the Badshah had showered similar lavish gifts on Farah Khan when their films 'Main Hoon Na' and 'Om Shanti Om' released.

Shahrukh Khan loves it when he wakes up on his birthday with lot of gifts around him in his room.
And his family and friends made sure that this time too when he gets up on November 2, he finds loads of attractive packets not only in his bedroom but under his bed, too. "I love gifts and I was tempted to open these but lots of people were there to wish me and I couldn't have made them wait for me," said Shahrukh on his birthday yesterday.
And two of the most precious gifts he got on his 46 thbirthday were a fan presenting him a collage of his family picture along with his parents; and the second was a huge birthday card made by his daughter Suhana. "Suhana says that she and her brother Aryan don't need angels in their life as their dad has given them everything they needed," Shahrukh smiles with lot of warmth, adding that he misses his parents really badly.
And he has an advise for his children, "When I go to say my namaazon the terrace, the thought that often strikes me is that lot of people have gone ahead in life by taking my name while lot of people may have not prospered, but I always tell my children never to use my name and come up in life on their own," says Shahrukh.
With Ra.One released, the actor says that he has not yet decided about making its sequel, and he is now putting all his energy on Don 2which will be out in December. And it seems he is taking his villainous character a bit too seriously as he is heard mouthing the film's dialogues at the slightest opportunity. These days whenever he is addressed as 'Sir', Shahrukh promptly blurts out a dialogue from Don 2 " Sir mat bolo, Don bolo. Sir bahut sharif lagta hai".
But what brings a frown on his happy face is when somebody compares Ra.One's collection to his arch rival Salman Khan's Bodyguard, or Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots. "I don't really bother about the box office collection. Since the time the movie has released I have traveled all the way from Los Angeles to Bhatinda and everyone has been talking about the film. People are writing and talking good things and bad things about the film, but at the end of the day I feel everything happens for good. But, it is degrading films by comparing them," he said, adding his favourite oft-repeated line "Aur Badshah toh Badshah hi hota hai".

Shah Rukh Khan has started promoting his next release with Priyanka Chopra. The onscreen jodi, along with Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar visited a radio station yesterday. Post the show, King Khan headed to his vanity van to give interviews to select media.
Priyanka joined him after a while. SRK, few days ago, with reference to the poster had tweeted, "my dream poster. when I joined films dis is the pose I always wanted to do. Guy...Girl..& a Gun. Yay." Now that he has the girl, we wonder where the gun is?

Going by the oft-repeated adage, that there are no permanent foes or friends in the industry, it remains to be seen if there ever will be a patch up between Shah Rukh and Salman Khan.
Interestingly, it looked like King Khan was willing to let bygones be bygones with an interesting gesture on Airtel Superstar Awards to be aired on 27th November on STAR Plus, STAR One, STAR Gold and STAR Utsav at 8pm.
Our source reveals that the actor was there to announce the award for the Best Onscreen Couple. Keeping in mind that the awards were based on the votes shared by the public from across the country, Salman & Kareena were declared to be the most popular among all the other nominees.
However, the Bodyguard wasn't in town. Instead, Salman's sister Alvira and brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri, who produced the film, went up on the stage to receive the award on Salman's behalf.
SRK was extremely warm and friendly towards them, and even announced "Wish Salman and Kareena were here to receive their award," loud enough for all to hear. "Obviously, the people present were taken aback," added our source.

SRK wins UNESCO award

Bollywood Badshah, Shah Rukh Khan has bagged a prestigious honour which is reported to be never received before by any Indian celebrity. SRK recently won the UNESCO award for his charity engagements and social commitment towards providing education for children. The 20th UNESCO Awards was held at Maritim Hotel in Duesseldorf, Germany.
A thrilled King Khan shared the news on his social networking site, quoting, "I am super excited cos education for kids is most dear cause to me." He was honoured with the Pyramide con Marni award; thus becoming the first Indian to win this.
Shah Rukh was invited by UNESCO ambassador Ute Ohoven. The event was attended by eminent international personalities namely Jet Li, Naomi Campbell, Vladislav Doronin, Mikhail Gorbacheva, Chris de Burgh and Rosanna Davison among others.
Earlier the award was received by likes of Dalai Lama, Queen Noor of Jordan, Helen Mirren and Lionel Ritchie.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan Wednesday turned an otherwise drab official function into a rib-tickling affair by offering to strip and reveal his bermudas on stage at the inauguration of the 42nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
Shah Rukh, the chief guest at the inauguration of the 11-day festival, was at his hilarious best and had union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ambika Soni and Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat in splits by threatening to strip down to his beach wear, which he claimed he was wearing beneath his formal slacks.
“I wanted to wear my bermudas, but then chose to wear my suit. But I am still wearing bermudas beneath. Do you want me to take my pants off,” he asked, leaving the 1,000 strong audience laughing their guts out.
“The younger girls (referring to compere Tisca Chopra and actress Rituparna Sengupta) and Ambika ji are saying ‘take it off, take it off’!” Khan chided in banter, after being at the receiving end of Soni’s playful jibe at him in her introductory speech.
Soni had earlier said that it was “extremely easy” to get Shah Rukh Khan to attend the festival and that she did not have to approach any “powerful” friends and people to coax the Bollywood badshah to attend the mega I&B event.
“All I told him was that we need to him to come to the festival to raise the profile of the IFFI (International Film Festival of India). And he said yes,” Soni said, even as Shah Rukh had the organisers waiting for nearly 40 minutes before he arrived at the venue.
The festival will screen more than 100 movies from 65 countries and will have special packages like ‘Master Classes’ by renowned film personalities like Milcho Manchevski, Hugh Welchman, Laurence Kardish and a first of its kind package of 3D and animation movies.
Actress Madhuri Dixit and Freida Pinto are also expected to attend the festival.

All his bags were packed and he was ready to go. In fact, Shah Rukh Khan claimed on a social networking site that he was even working on his Bihari accent for his first ever Patna trip. But at the last minute, his trip got cancelled. SRK tweeted: Was super excited with my first ever visit to Patna but distt authorities said sum security issue. Will come sum other time. Damn..!!!
According to a personnel of the Bihar administration, SRK's arrival in Patna coincided with CM Nitish Kumar's departure from the city. And that's started off a security panic in Patna. While waiting for his private aircraft at the Mumbai airport, the actor's entourage got a call advising SRK not to land in Patna as there was a serious security threat. He had no choice but to return home.
A member of the star's proposed Patna entourage revealed, “Shah Rukh was really disappointed when he had to cancel his Patna trip and return. He was looking forward to his visit to the Bihar capital because he was told neither Salman nor Aamir had been there. Shah Rukh is still baffled as to why he was warned against boarding that plane.”
Back in Patna, his fans have threatened to boycott Don 2 for what they see as a betrayal by their favourite star. An 18-year old girl waiting at the Patna mall for SRK said, “If Katrina Kaif ,Abhishek and Amitabh Bachchan can come to Patna why can't Shah Rukh come? Apne aapko don bolta hai. Dar gaya. He got scared.”
When contacted Abhishek Ranjan, manager of Cinepolis multiplex, the mall where SRK was supposed to meet his fans in Patna, denied there was a security problem and said, “The Patna administration had gone all-out to provide us with enough security here at the mall. No, Mr Khan couldn't come because of the foggy weather.”

| Shah Rukh Khan chooses Patna over Dubai

Shah Rukh Khan fans in Patna, who were disappointed when King Khan aborted his plans to visit the city, have a reason to rejoice. Now SRK's Don 2's 10-city promotional tour of India ends in Patna.
The Don 2 team started their multi-city promotion tour in non-metropolitan centres in India on Tuesday and visited cities like Nagpur, Ahmedabad and Jaipur. However their plans to visit Patna got cancelled at the last moment when the local administration asked them to stay back following an unprecedented commotion caused by his visit plans.
Even Shah Rukh expressed his disappointment by tweeting "Was super excited with my first ever visit to Patna, but district authorities said some security issue...Will come some other time. Damn!!!" And he kept his word of coming soon.
Sources close to the film reveal, "While the Don 2 team had planned for a Dubai premiere on Thursday, subsequently they rescheduled it with a Patna visit. They had recently been to Dubai as a part of the Dubai Film Festival and so felt that catering to the Patna fans made more sense".
Well, Don doesn't disappoint anyone, you see!

Shah Rukh and Salman were stuck in the same room at Riteish’s birthday bash. They picked their own corners

Friends-turned-foes Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have been bumping into each other a little too frequently these days. While the two recently ran into each other in a Delhi bound aircraft, when SRK had to flee to avoid any uncomfortable situation, the two came very close to having a face off again at Riteish Deshmukh’s birthday bash. However, at the bash held in a south Mumbai five star on December 17, SRK chose not to run away but simply steer clear of Salman’s way.
Since the two stars had an ugly spat at yet another birthday party in July 2008, they have tried to time their entries and exits strategically to avoid having to face the other. Except, of course at the 3 Idiots party. However, of late, their timings seem to be failing them.
Explaining what exactly transpired between the two stars at Riteish’s birthday bash, an eyewitness told Mumbai Mirror, “Shah Rukh came to Riteish’s party at 1 am. His good friend Mushtaq Sheikh was with him. Shah Rukh was shocked to see Salman there.”
“Shah Rukh simply went up to Riteish and wished him. He also was seen chatting to a few other Bollywood stars who are close to him,” added the eyewitness.
However, Shah Rukh soon retired to a corner with friend Mushtaq Sheikh. Riteish and his fiancee Genelia D Souza joined them soon, revealed the eyewitness.
Shah Rukh, however was not the only one to feel uncomfortable. “Once Shah Rukh entered the party, Salman stopped interacting with too many people as well. He stayed put in his corner with his brothers Arbaaz and Sohail. Shirish Kunder and Sajid Nadiadwala kept them company,” said the eyewitness.
For friends like Mushtaq Sheikh, who is close to both SRK and Salman, things got a bit trickier. “He did the balancing act well. He went up and spoke to Salman as well. It was a big venue so there wasn’t too much of a problem,” explained the eyewitness.
And unlike the in-flight fiasco, this time, it was Salman who left the party first. “Shah Rukh stayed put for a while. The tension eased after Salman left the party,” informed the witness.

It’s fight to the finish as SRK, Akki, Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt and Sunny Deol book the same date for their 2012 mega films

Diwali 2012, firecrackers won’t just light up your homes. With five A-list actors clashing at the box office, the ticket windows are sure to light up as well. As of now, five films have been scheduled to release on the same day in November next year, These include, Shah Rukh Khan’s film directed by Yash Chopra, Akshay Kumar’s Khiladi 786, Ajay Devgn’s Son Of Sardar, Sunny Deol’s Ghayal Returns and Sanjay Dutt’s Thanedaar Returns.
While Yash Chopra has already announced that his untitled project starring Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif will be releasing on Diwali. Recently, Himesh Reshammiya who launched his next production Khiladi 786 (to be directed by Rohit Shetty’s assistant Ashish Mohan) with Akshay Kumar has also announced a Diwali release.
A couple of days back, it was announced that Sanjay Dutt starrer Thanedaar Returns, to be directed by KS Ravikumar will also release on the same date. Apart from these three films, Ajay Devgn, who has always tasted success during Diwali is aiming for a Diwali release for Son Of Sardar. Sunny Deol’s home production Ghayal Returns to be directed by Rahul Rawail is also trying for the same date.
When contacted, Vajir Singh, editor of Box Office India said, “This will be the biggest clash at the box office ever. Producers like to release their films on Diwali. It is a festive season and films do good business. However, in this kind of a scenario, the films are sure to eat into each other’s business.”
Noted critic Taran Adarsh reflected, “I guess it is the stage where people want to block the date and say, ‘Hamaari picture a jaayegi, doosre ki nahi aayegi’. Not more than two films should release not only on Diwali but on any other weekend. An exhibitor cannot accomodate.
The common man doesn’t have time, money or the inclination to watch five films. So why clash?”
“Ghayal Returns and Son Of Sardar shoots have already begun. Himesh’s film with Akshay is yet to go on floors and there is no status to Thaanedar Returns as of yet. Shah Rukh has already given dates to Yash Chopra so that is confirmed. As of now, there are five films but as the weeks go by, we would get a clearer picture. But I still maintain that this is not a healthy trend,” added Adarsh.

Shah Rukh Khan decided to celebrate the release of Don 2 at Mannat on Saturday night. And while all his friends including Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani, Chunkey and Bhavna Pandey and Mushtaq Sheikh chose to join in his celebrations, lead actress Priyanka Chopra was conspicuous by her absence.
A source from the party informed Mumbai Mirror, "Everybody at the party were heard whispering about Priyanka's absence. She is a very good friend of Shah Rukh Khan. She has been by his side for all the promotional events of Don 2. She had been a part of most of the parties at Mannat as well. It wasn't that she was traveling on Saturday. She was very much in the city. And till date, she has never missed SRK's parties."
At the last party held at Mannat during Eid, Priyanka was there from the very beginning. The actress had also cheered for Khan's IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders throughout the cricket season. Thus, her absence at the party last Saturday did raise a few eyebrows.
While industry insiders believe that there could be a bigger reason behind her non-attendance at the Don 2 party, a very close friend of the actress reasoned, "Priyanka was busy shooting at Madh Island. Then she had to come back to Versova. Her parents were leaving town. So she was busy."
