| Shahid Kapoor lost 5 kilos for YRF film

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor is going through grueling schedules these days. It seems the lad is all determined to strike back in Bollywood with the amount of hard work that he is putting in.
Shahid Kapoor, who has signed on YRF's next film, has been asked to shed weight. Since, his character in the film is of a normal Jaipur guy, director Maneesh Sharma (of BAND BAAJA BAARAT & LADIES VS RICKY BAHL) doesn't want Shahid's sculpted look.
Shahid, who loves staying fit, hasn't worked out since the last two months and won't till August end. He has already lost 5kgs and needs to lose 3 more kgs.

What is further interesting is that after shooting for Maneesh Sharma's film, Shahid will again start working out to re-gain his sculpted body for Prabhudheva's film NAMAK.

Shahid Kapoor looks like an absolute hottie, and we are talking about the new look that he worked on for his next film,Rambo Rajukumar. We hear that it’s an out and out action flick, and Sasha couldn’t possibly look meaner and sexier. He’s got an amazing tan and his hairdo is ruffled, messy in a nicely stylish way. The actor, we hear, had to sweat it out in the gym to bulk up for the film – but not as much as he did for Kaminey, we presume – and did his thing soaking in the sun in the idyllic locations of Goa, just so that he could look like a ‘mean hottie’.
It seems Sasha has got a tremendous response for his look already. After receiving a volley of compliments, the actor has himself fallen in love with his super scorching avatar.
We love Mr K’s temperature raising look, it makes us drool and how!

| Shahid replaces Imran in Milan Talkies

Tigmanshu Dhulia's dream project Milan Talkies seems to have faced a major change. Readers may be aware that the film was to star Imran Khan in lead role. However, the actor now won't be doing the film. The big news also is that Shahid Kapoor has replaced him in the film.
The reason for Imran stepping out of the film is yet unknown, however rumors have it that his next with Vikramaditya Motwane was causing date issues for this project. With Shahid coming in however, Milan Talkies becomes a hot property as Priyanka Chopra is the leading lady of the film and the audiences will be able to see the ex-flames together of screen again.
Milan Talkies is produced by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures and is slated to go on floor in October.

| Revealed - Rajkumar Santoshi wanted Ranbir for Phata Poster Nikla Hero

Let the fact be told now. In a strange twist of turns, there has been a role swapping of sorts between the two young Kapoors - Ranbir and Shahid. The story started over half a decade back when Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani was conceptualized.
"That was the time when Raj Kumar Santoshi was planning to make the film with Shahid Kapoor. He had actually put it all together keeping the youngster in mind. However, since he was busy with Kismat Konnection, there were no dates available with him. This is when Santoshi decided to reach out to another 'promising newcomer' who was looking at making his presence felt. The boy was Ranbir Kapoor who pronto came on board and rest, as they say, is history," informs a source.
The film turned out to be a superhit at the box office and while Shahid's Kismat Konnection was a moderate hit, Ranbir scored his first major biggie and that too with Katrina Kaif in tow.
"It was now a given that Santoshi would make his next too with Ranbir. When the subject of Phata Poster Nikhla Hero was being explored, Santoshi designed the entire film keeping Ranbir in mind," the source continues, "This time around the 'once promising youngster' had turned out to be a star in his own right and was overtly selective about his films. Since he was busy with Barfi! and Besharam, he didn't wish to juggle too many projects and politely told Santoshi about that."
This time around, it was Shahid to be Santoshi's next choice as a leading man. He was more than happy to come on board as well, considering the fact that he was looking for something much lighter after Mausam and Teri Meri Kahaani. For the filmmaker too, it was going back to the actor with whom he wanted to build a partnership many years back.
"That's true," said Santoshi when contacted, "Shahid had always impressed me since the days of Ishq Vishk. In fact I had loved him in Vivah and also found him impressive in Jab We Met. Despite Kareena Kapoor enjoying an author backed role, Shahid impressed with his restrained act. Now he is enjoying the author backed part in Phata Poster Nikhla Hero."
Considering the fact that the part was originally 'authored' for Ranbir Kapoor, one looks forward to the kind of changes that may have been eventually made with Shahid coming on board

| Shraddha Kapoor replaces Priyanka Chopra in Milan Talkies

Big things are happening to the Aashiqui 2 girl Shraddha Kapoor's career. Suddenly she is here, there and everywhere.
Now in a position to pick and choose, Shraddha has just given the nod to Tigmanshu Dhulia's Milan Talkies, thereby replacing Priyanka Chopra who was until recently, very excited about working with Tigmanshu.
Priyanka suddenly cooled down and became evasive about the project. When asked about it, Priyanka said, "They (the Milan Talkies team) haven't got back to me."
Now we know the reason why Priyanka is no more part of Milan Talkies. She has been replaced by Shraddha Kapoor. Priyanka can seek solace for her loss in the fact that even Imran Khan who was to co-star with her is not part of the project any more.
Says a source close to the project, "After Bullett Raja where he has cast Saif and Sonakshi together for the first time, Tigmanshu and his producer Ekta Kapoor were keen to cast another untried pair in Milan Talkies. Imran and Priyanka made a lot of box-office sense together. But when Imran opted out and was replaced by Shahid Kapoor, Tigmanshu had no choice but to replace Priyanka since Shahid and Priyanka together after Teri Meri Kahaani spelt doom."
Shraddha, on the other hand, is felt to be the new rising female actor after Aashiqui 2. Both the male and female protagonist in Milan Talkies have equally powerful parts.
Says a source, "After Aashiqui 2, Tigmanshu feels Shraddha can carry off the complex dramatic moments as well as the light-hearted interludes in Milan Talkies."
As for Priyanka she seems to be gravitating towards the lighter fun parts after a series of heavyweight dramatic roles. Says a source close to Priyanka, "At the moment Mary Kom is her only emotionally challenging role. That apart PC is looking for a change of mood after Saat Khoon Maaf, Barfi and Teri Meri Kahaani."

| Rambo Rajkumar leaves field clear for Bullett Raja

Shahid Kapoor's Prabhudheva-directed action-thriller Rambo Rajkumar will no longer vie for the public eye with Saif Ali Khan Tigmanshu Dhulia-directed Bullett Raja. And contrary to reports, Sonakshi Sinha who stars in both the films had nothing to do with the decision.
Says the Rambo Rajkumar director Prabhudheva, "Why Sonakshi? Why would she want to stop any release? She is happy just working."
Though Rambo Rajkumar's co-producers Eros International desist from confirming the change, I have it from reliable sources that a whole lot of brainstorming went into the postponement of the Rambo Rajkumar release.
Says the source, "It has been repeatedly proved that when two big films are released together one of them is bound to suffer. Zanjeer is a disaster although it is so different from last Friday's other release Shuddh Desi Romance. Rambo Rajkumar and Bullett Raja belong to the same rustic rugged action-adventure genre. Their titles too are identical in intent, grabbing as they do our attention with their flamboyant 1970s' styled bravado."
It was felt by both parties involved that one of the two actioners had to move forward. And since Shahid Kapoor already has a release Raj Kumar Santoshi's Phata Poster Nikhla Hero scheduled this month, it was a felt that a little extra space before his next release wouldn't hurt anybody.
Rambo Rajkumar, we hear has been shifted a week ahead from November 29, to December 6 averting a clash with Bullett Raja. Shahid's film will now clash with Subhash Ghai's Kaanchi.

| Another blow for Shahid... Phata Poster gets 'Thanda' response

Until recently Shahid Kapoor was regarded as one of the best-packaged star-actors among the contemporary entertainers of Bollywood. With his last two 'epic' films Mausam and Teri Meri Kahaani proving to be epic losses at the box office, a lot was seen to be hinging on the potential success of his new film Phata Poster Nikhla Hero (PPNH).
But look at the irony! Wags within the entertainment industry are cruelly labelling it Phata Poster Nikhla Zero. Says a director, who not so long ago offered Shahid a solid role in a film that went on to be a runaway success, "Shahid asked me for a hard-bound script. I told him I don't work that way. He said he works in no other way. I want to know what kind of a hard-bound script Santoshi offered him for Phata Poster... I can't see any evidence of a script in the film."
A marketing head from a multiplex chain in Mumbai says it's a case of Shahid trying to be what he is not. "He is good at comedy. But he is not great at it. Why has he been made to do what Salman did Dabangg and Ranbir Kapoor in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani? We got a poor opening for Phata Poster... as low as 40 to 50 percent attendance on the first day. We are hoping the collections would pick up. But we doubt it! Audiences just don't find the film entertaining."
Trade expert Taran Adarsh admits the opening of PPNH has been disappointing. "The numbers are not in-sync with the merits of the film. But Shahid has proved he's a complete all-rounder with a terrific performing ability."
Amod Mehra is less hopeful. "Shahid has had quite a few flops recently. Furthermore, neither the film's title nor the trailer was exciting. A couple of songs were liked. But before they could become chartbusters the film was released."
So where does this underwhelming response leave Shahid Kapoor? Every expert in the film trade reveals Prabhu Dheva's film tentatively entitled Rambo Rajkumar would do the trick.
Raves Prabhudeva, "Shahid is so good in action scenes. Dancing is already his forte. For the first time audiences will see him as an action star. He is unbelievable."

| Shahid and Shraddha signed for Vishal Bhardwaj's Haider

Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Tabu have been roped in for Vishal Bhardwaj's ambitious next in the Shakespeare triology Haider, which is an Indian adaptation of Hamlet.
While Tabu has already been a part of this triology as the Lady Macbeth in Vishal's Maqbool in 2003, Shahid will be pairing up with the director after the 2009 film Kaminey. The Kapoor boy will be essaying the lead role of Hamlet while Shraddha and Tabu's role are still being kept under wraps. Hamlet is the story of a son of a former king who takes revenge from his uncle and the then King Claudius for snatching away the throne by murdering his father.
The Indian version of this Shakespearan tragedy will be shot in the beautiful locales around Kashmir and is slated to go on floors by the end of 2013.

| Shraddha opts out of one Shahid starrer to do another

Shraddha Kapoor is going places. And so rapidly that she seems to be getting her feet into a tangle at times.
One hears that after saying yes to Tigmanshu Dhulia's Milan Talkies with Shahid Kapoor, the spirited smart sassy savvy girl has decided to do another film, Vishal Bhardwaj's Kashmir-centric adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet entitled Haider, with Shahid.
Says a source close to the project, "Shraddha was finalized for Milan Talkies with Shahid Kapoor after Priyanka Chopra was no more in the film. But then when Vishal Bhardwaj offered her Haider with Shahid, she was too tempted to resist. And since doing two back-to-back films with Shahid did not seem like a good idea, she opted out of Tigmanshu's film leaving it heroine-less for the second time in six months."
When contacted, Tigmanshu admitted Shraddha is no more a part of Milan Talkies. However, he doesn't attribute her non-availability for his project to Haider alone.
Says Tigmanshu, "Shraddha has signed a lot of films. Vishal Bhardwaj's project is one of them. But the reason we decided not to work together in Milan Talkies was an in-house one. She is already doing another film with Mohit Suri entitled Villain for my Milan Talkies producer Balaji. It was impossible for her to accommodate two Balaji projects in her schedule within one year."
Tigmanshu will now cast a new heroine opposite Shahid in Milan Talkies.
"New female faces always work in love stories. Besides the film industry is suffering a serious heroine crisis. We need at least five new saleable heroines," avers the director who made Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster a cult hit with Mahie Gill in the lead.

| Shahid- Shraddha leave for Kashmir to shoot Haider

Vishal Bhardwaj left for Kashmir on Wednesday to shoot Haider, the desi Bollywood adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet. Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor who play the desi Hamlet and Ophelia are expected to arrive in Kashmir later this week.
Haider would be shot in two schedules in Kashmir, one over this winter and the next during summer 2014.
Says a source close to the project, "Haider will have two looks. Kashmir in winter and Kashmir in summer. Shahid will play Hamlet in a modern Kashmiri context with the unrest in the Valley forming a backdrop. And yes, Kashmir would be prominently featured and named in the film."
This, after the J &K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's misgivings that Kashmir would once again be misrepresented in a Bollywood film. Ayan Mukerji's Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani which was partially shot in Kashmir demurred in naming Kashmir and passed it off as Manali.
Says a source close to the project, "The script clearly named Kashmir as the place that Ranbir, Deepika, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Kalki visit in the course of the plot's journey. Being a Karan Johar production there was no problem in getting the necessary permission. Omar Abdullah played host to Ayan, Ranbir and Deepika. However when the film was released Kashmir was passed off as Manali."
Vishal however, has no problems, in owning up to Kashmir as the land of his plot.
Says a source close to his project, "Vishal is very comfortable in Kashmir. In fact he shot one major chunk of 7 Khoon Maaf in Kashmir. Haider will be the first Hindi film since Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Mission: Kashmir to be shot entirely in the Valley."

For all you girls and ladies out there who simply de-stress with Shahid Kapoor's tress, well, the 'mane' topic of discussion about this lover boy will shock you to say the least. The reason? The eternal heart-throb is apparently set to go bald for Vishal Bhardwaj's Haider.
When asked about him going bald, the usually calm and cool Shahid said that he knew about this about five months back when Vishal started discussing Haider with him. Without revealing the exact reason as to what prompts his character in the film to go bald, he said that the role is so good that he just didn't mind shaving off his head completely.
Based on the Shakespearean tragedy Hamlet, the film will be shot in the beautiful locales around Kashmir and is slated to go on floors by the end of 2013.

| Shahid Kapoor to get married in June this year!
The news of Shahid Kapoor getting engaged had been all over the internet recently. The actor himself had confirmed his wedding and also said that he plans to tie the knot by the end of the year.So, it was believed that that the wedding would take place in November or December. But now there are reports that the wedding might in fact take place in June itself.According to Raj Nidimoru, the director of Shahid’s upcoming film Farzi, the actor has shifted the date of his wedding to June. Because of that, the shooting schedule of Farzi will now be moved to a later date.The director has also denied any changes in the casting of the film, which originally featured Kriti Sanon and Nawazuddin Siddique.Shahid is yet to confirm the news, but if he does he will break a million hearts in June. Shahid is engaged to a young Delhi girl named Mira Rajput.
