Salman Khan has come out in support of Sarabjit Singh, the Indian who is on death row in Pakistan.
The actor has urged the people of Pakistan to help him to free Sarabjit Singh.
'Requesting the people of pakistan to support me to help free surabjeet who has been in prison since 30 yrs . Please . Allah ka vasta. Request the to the awam of pakistan, member"s of the press, govt of pakistan, president zardari, a humble request,' he tweeted.
Hours after reports emerged on Tuesday that Pakistan was to free Sarabjit, Presidential spokesman Faratullah Babar said it wasn't Sarabjit but another Indian prisoner Surjeet Singh, who has been in jail for three decades.
But Salman, who saw a picture of Sarabjit's sister, is sad to see his family in despair. 'It would be the most amazing gesture, to send surabjeet back to his family after 30 years. Hope u support me like its your own cause. Wanted to tweet this for the longest time , saw a pic of surabjeets sister, it Killed me. Felt real sad for her. Help me help her,' he added.

A friend of Katrina Kaif rubbishes reports of Salman Khan getting violent with the actress on the sets of Ek Tha Tiger

A magazine recently reported that Salman Khan went back to his bratty ways during a patchwork shoot of YRF's Ek Tha Tiger in Film City.
Apparently, the actor known for his mercurial temper blew his top on seeing his on-screen and former off-screen love interest Katrina Kaif step out of her vanity in a figure hugging, cleavage revealing short dress. And after showering the unsuspecting actress with a torrent of foul words, the actor in front of everyone, picked up a stick lying nearby and allegedly hit Kat.
A friend of the actress chose to vehemently deny the act of violence. “This is completely untrue. Salman and Katrina chose to work in the same film because there was no animosity between them. They got along famously during the Dublin and the Istanbul schedules. Salman cares for Katrina a lot. She is like family,” said the friend.
Lashing out at the magazine, the friend added, “People make up a lot of stories. Only because they couldn't keep up to their commitment of making an appearance at an awards function, rumours started flying.”
According to the magazine, retreating into her vanity to escape the wrath of Salman, Kat called up Kareena Kapoor, who was shooting nearby. Kareena, who is friends with the actor, came by immediately to calm him down and no further harm came to Kat.
“How did the magazine know what happened inside Katrina's vanity when she had locked it? Kareena visiting her friend Salman doesn't necessarily have to be instigated by a phone call from his co-star,” added the friend.
Katrina who is working on two films (both for the same production house, YRF) currently and has more ventures lined up, chose not to react. However, her friend added, “Kat has many projects lined up. She doesn't have time for silly rumours generated by the media. In fact she had to turn down Karan Johar's offer of Dostana 2 because she couldn't adjust her dates.” But Mirror has learnt that KJo and Dostana director Tarun Mansukhani is trying hard to convince the actress to clear up her calendar for them. Though that surely seems unlikely.

| Salman meets Sarabjit’s family

Recently in an emotional tweet, Salman Khan had appealed to the people of Pakistan to support him in efforts to free Sarabjit Singh.
Sarabjit's sister Dalbir Kaur and his daughter met Salman on the sets of Dabangg 2 to thank him for his efforts to free her brother, who has been imprisoned in Pakistan for the last 22 years. Following the tweet, Salman even launched an online campaign asking people to support the cause. Dalbir, who has been working towards getting her brother Sarabjit back to India, also met Raza Murad for his support.

Pakistan has warned its cable operators against screening promos of the upcoming Salman Khan-starrer Ek Tha Tiger, saying that the film is aimed at tarnishing the image of its intelligence agency ISI
Set for world release on August 15, the Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif movie Ek Tha Tiger is loosely based on the activities of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). The film sees Salman play a RAW agent who is sent to Pakistan to keep an eye on the activities of a college professor who is suspected of selling missile technology secrets to that country. While millions of Salman fans have marked the date on their calendars so that they can catch the film as soon as possible, our neighbouring nation seems to feel that the topic of Ek Tha Tiger is too sensitive to be shown in their country.
In fact, a letter has been issued by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority – the nation’s media regulatory watchdog – to all satellite TV channels and cable networks last week urging them to refrain from airing the promos of the Salman starrer till a no-objection certificate is issued by the Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC).

Despite being one of the most profitable production houses of Bollywood, YRF seems to be in no mood to shell out cash where it matters
Yash Raj Films, helmed by Aditya Chopra is arguably the only production house in B-town that is working with the three biggest Khans in one year. The Salman Khan-starrer Ek Tha Tiger is all set to take the BO by a storm, the untitled Shahrukh Khan-Katrina Kaif film will be wrapped soon, and the shooting for the Aamir Khan-starrer Dhoom 3 is about to begin. Phew! Does it get bigger than that for any production house? We certainly don’t think so. This is the reason why we were shocked when we learned about the stingy ways of Yash Raj Films.
On the condition of anonymity, a hassled friend of ours ranted, “As an exhibitor I admire Fox, Eros and Reliance for their supply of publicity materials, they are always prompt and ready to help. For Salman’s Bodyguard, Reliance sent us a specially made 50×10 banner along with two banners of 20×20. Same was with Eros’ generosity, when Shahrukh’s RA.One released. We wonder why YRF is not willing to spend on the banners of Ek Tha Tiger. They say that they will not be able to send us a special 50×10 banner.”
Guess free banners for exhibitors aren’t part of Mr Aditya Chopra’s promotional plans! What do you guys at YRF have to say to that?

He is the ultimate Bodyguard of B-town, but such is the popularity of Salman Khan that it even took Bill Clinton aback.A little birdie has chirped to us that while Salman was busy filming his upcoming spy thriller Ek Tha Tiger in Dublin, Bill Clinton happened to visit the city. Coincidentally, both Khan and Clinton booked into Hotel Shelbourne and had rooms on the same floor. Clinton’s staff was stunned to see Salman’s hardcore fans from the Irish city trying to force their way into the hotel at odd hours to meet him.
When Bill Clinton’s staff saw all this frenzy, they could not put the former US president’s security in jeopardy. Finally, Clinton’s secret service took over the actor’s security detail for the three days he was in Dublin. “I was staying on the same floor and to sanitise the area, they had to take care of Salman’s personal security too. It was amazing,”said director of Ek Tha Tiger Kabir Khan in an interview.
Now this news has boggled our mind. While Shahrukh was detained at the US airport, allegedly because his name is Khan, the Dabangg Khan, enjoys a special service from the former US president himself! Strange, no?

The Ek Tha Tiger actor refuses to promote the film without his heroine, keeps her away from the Dhoom 3 schedule

With Ek Tha Tiger inching close to its release on August 15, promotions are about to begin in full swing. At the same time, the Dhoom 3 team including Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will be leaving for their Chicago shoot on August 4.
But with Salman Khan insisting on Katrina being alongside him in all of Ek Tha Tiger's promotions, Yash Raj Films, makers of both Ek Tha Tiger and Dhoom 3, have had no option but relent to the star's demands and allow Katrina to join the Chicago schedule of Dhoom 3 only after August 15.
Both the YRF spokesperson and Katrina's business manager confirmed the development saying, "She will join the cast and crew of Dhoom 3, who are leaving for Chicago in the first week of August, only later. Reason being she has to be there for Ek Tha Tiger's promotions, with the film releasing in the second week of August."
Meanwhile, a source close to the film said, "Salman wants to do all the film's promotions with Katrina. Agreed, she is the female lead but a lot of times, due to simultaneous shooting schedules, actresses do skip a few promotions else do them in advance. For instance, Kareena could not make it for all the promotional events of Bodyguard as she was shooting endlessly for RA.One. that was close to release at the time."
Added the source, "However, since Salman has specifically mentioned they will do joint promotions, nothing much can be done except pushing Katrina's Dhoom 3 dates ahead. And since both are YRF films, the makers too are in a spot and have agreed to Salman's demands."
However, given that Katrina and Aamir have worked hard on their stunts and their look in Dhoom 3, YRF would have been happier to start off the schedule with them first, the source said.

A Salman Khan film without a shot of the actor taking off his shirt feels incomplete. At least for his fans. Or so the actor feels. And thus, despite there being no requirement for the RAW agent Tiger to take his top off, Salman has persuaded the makers of Ek Tha Tiger to include a special sequence. And Mirror has learnt that the scene that features the actor and his shirtless torso, was shot last week at YRF Studios.
YRF spokesperson said, "Yes, Ek Tha Tiger has included one shot especially for the fans."
A source revealed, "Salman Khan plays the role of a spy. The script did not demand a shirtless scene. But he thought that his trademark act should be incorporated for his fans. After all, it is an Eid release."
And thus, Salman had a chat with Aditya Chopra and Kabir Khan, the producer and the director of the film. "They were very receptive to Salman's idea. The patch work was shot last week. It is an action sequence," added the source.
This also puts an end to rumours about the production house not being too happy with Salman's diktats. Surely, they did not have a problem acceding to his wishes this time around.

Multiplexes across the country to hike ticket prices by 12-16 per cent for the actor’s Eid release, Ek Tha Tiger

Websites had started pre-booking shows a month before Salman Khan’s much-awaited Eid release Ek Tha Tiger was scheduled to hit the theatres on August 15. And now, Mirror has learnt that most multiplexes have decided to hike the ticket prices by as much as 12-16 percent.
Pricing tickets higher for certain films or during special occasions like Diwali and New Year is not uncommon. In fact, earlier Salman releases Ready and Bodyguard had been priced higher than regular rates. However, a 12-16 percent hike is unprecedented.
Explaining the hike, an insider said, “Most multiplexes rolled back the ticket prices (Mirror, May 3, 2012) a few months ago. So, a 12-16 percent hike will come out to be about Rs 20. Which is fair. After all it is the festive season. People are willing to shell out extra money for a Salman film especially during Eid. The multiplexes have taken this decision after a lot of research.”
Confirming the development, Anand Vishal, Head of Operations, Fun Cinemas told Mirror, “Nationally, the price will rise by about Rs 20 per ticket. After all it is a premium product. This kind of thing is done during festive seasons. And today Salman films demand higher premium than before.”
The price hike will however, not be the same in every theatre. Areas where there is more than one multiplex, will see a 12 percent hike in ticket price. While areas, with fewer theatre options will see as much as a 16 percent rise. And this will apply to all major cities in the country.
Harshavardhan Gangurde, Vice President (Marketing), Inox Cinemas said, “We haven’t decided the exact amount by which we shall raise the ticket price. But we will soon. Ek Tha Tiger is a blockbuster.”
And his thoughts are reiterated by several other theatre owners who have allocated as much as 95% of the shows for the YRF film. Vishal confirmed that as far as Fun Cinemas is concerned, “At least 90 percent of the shows have been allocated to Ek Tha Tiger.”
However, most single screens have decided to maintain the ticket prices. Like, for one, Manoj Desai, owner of Gaiety-Galaxy, told Mirror, “I have never hiked ticket prices. I am not doing it for Ek Tha Tiger either. But I must tell you, I have full confidence in this film.”

| Salman says no to small town promotional tour

Superstar Salman Khan is playing safe - he has decided against travelling to smaller cities to promote his forthcoming film " Ek Tha Tiger" and he has a valid reason to do so.
"It's not about crowd control. There are women and kids and in their excitement, the men try to take advantage of the fact that there are women in the crowd. Then there are kids and senior citizens who are pushed around. God forbid, if something happens, it comes on to us," the 46-year-old said.
"If someone gets injured, that's Ok but god forbid if someone dies in these mishaps, then the responsibility falls on us. Then if our security guard pushes someone to protect us, then that also becomes a big issue. So it's better to stay away from all this," he added.
Meanwhile, Salman, who is in an excellent phase of his career where anything he touches turns to gold, says the credit for it goes to those who work behind the scenes to make an excellent final product.
"I have just been lucky. There are people who have worked very hard on their own craft that has made me reach this phase of my life. There are films that have already been made and have done OK and have been great for me, lots of people have worked hard on them," said Salman.
"Like now, Kabir (Khan) has worked really hard on his script and direction. Adi ( Aditya Chopra) and Yash Raj have put in a lot of creativity and money in Tiger ('Ek Tha Tiger'). So when all these things come together on screen, I am going to be hugely benefited by the success of the Friday," added Salman.
Directed by Kabir Khan, "Ek Tha Tiger" stars Salman in the role of a spy while Katrina Kaif will be seen opposite him. It hits theatres on Aug 15.

As far as Salman Khan is concerned, rules are meant to be broken. Or in the least, bent to meet his needs. And thus, the actor has so far made sure that he got his way with his producers, Yash Raj Films - be it parking his vanity van in the sacrosanct premises of the studio, or having his Ek Tha Tiger co-star Katrina's dress altered for a song.
Mirror has learnt, that Khan has managed to turn a few rules upside down even after the film shoot is over. He managed to hold two private screenings at the YRF studios for his friends and family. And then parties in the premises till the wee hours of the morning. Needless to say, in the history of Yash Raj, such screenings or after-movie-parties are a first.
Thus on Monday night, Salman along with brother Sohail Khan, father Salim Khan, sister Alvira Agnihotri and brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri were huddled in the screening theatre in YRF Studios. Of course, co-star Katrina Kaif, sister Arpita, her ex-beau Arjun Kapoor and certain other friends from the industry, including Rani Mukerji's parents were also present.
A source close to the star told Mirror, "Salman is really excited about Ek Tha Tiger. He believes that his family and close friends will give him an honest opinion. And thus, he has arranged for not one but several screenings of the film. While a few shows will be held at Ketnav, the screening theatre in Bandra where most of Salman's films are held, the majority of screenings will take place at the YRF Studios in Andheri."
Another source, who was present for the screening on Monday, added, "Malaika and Arbaaz were absent. Salman's mother was also not there. So another screening will soon be held for sure. But the Monday screening was a success. The film started at 10 pm. But nobody left the studio compound before 4 am. After the film, they were partying till morning."
Interestingly, YRF, a production house that does not hold press shows till the date of release to keep their film a secret, have allowed Salman to arrange special screenings this time around. Needless to say, this Khan knows how to create his own set of rules.

The Khan family celebrated Eid with much fanfare. Spotted at the party were Salman Khan’s close friends and relatives, all decked up to make the most of the evening
The flamboyant Eid party took place at Salman Khan’s residence. Sallu bhai’s younger brother Sohail Khan was seen playing the cordial host. Although Salman was nowhere in sight, his ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif was seen entering the Khan abode in her swanky car. She looked lovely in a virgin-white ethnic kurta which she teamed with elegant earrings. Salman’s close pal Sanjay Dutt was also seen at the soiree – all set to relish the Khan family’s famous biryani. We spotted Karisma Kapoor in a shiny fuchsia kurta. And just when we were done gaping at Lolo, we caught sight of Ishaqzaade actor Arjun Kapoor. We wonder why he had such a grave expression on his face. Karan Johar and Vaibhavi Merchant also attended the bash, but made sure they kept an arm’s length from the paparazzi. Kabir Khan was seen making his presence felt with his oh-so-pretty wife Mini Mathur. And we can already imagine the Ek Tha Tiger team dancing away to glory at the do and celebrating the success of their movie. Farah Khan, Malaika Arora Khan, Preity Zinta, Nikhil Dwivedi and Abhishek Kapoor were also present at the party. Now that looks like one helluva happening bash – what do you think?

| Sher Khan to purr in love

Salman Khan had sportingly admitted that his health conditions no more allow him to perform daredevil stunts. And while for his next film Dabangg 2 Arbaaz Khan had already arranged for a body double, a question mark hovered over the actor's other projects Sher Khan and Kick - both action adventures.
However, Mirror has now learnt that as far as brother Sohail's directorial Sher Khan is concerned, Salman has already taken a call to transform the action-hero to a romantic one. The film is being redesigned as a passionate love story with the action kept to the minimum.
A source close to the project told Mirror, "Salman's character of the do-gooder Robin Hood-meets-Superman needs modification. Sher Khan would now be an out-and-out love story with Salman romancing two stunning beauties."
In fact, while Angela Jonsson will play one of Salman's love interests, the other heroine is yet to be finalised. "Sohail is on the look-out for a pinup girl preferably from the modeling world who would look like a million bucks and also be able to do some stunts," added the source.
According to the source, both the leading ladies will be required to do some heavy-duty action scenes to compensate for the hero's reduced agility. As for Salman's action sequences, a body double will be called in.
Sadly, as things stand today, fans will perhaps get to see Salman doing some of his own stunts for the last time in Dabangg 2. As for Sher Khan, he will only be seen purring romantic nothings.

The search for the leading ladies (and there’s quite a handful of them in this one) for Anees Bazmee’s No Entry Mein Entry is still on. The filmmaker had earlier confirmed that there will be nine female leads in his film opposite the three actors, all of whom will have a double role.
Later, he had said that Bipasha Basu was being considered for a very special 10th female role. But the names, as it happens, have not been decided yet. And Mirror has learnt, that it’s because the makers are still chalking up a list, an advert for which would read something like this:
Wanted: Ten leading ladies for Anees Bazmee’s next, No Entry Mein Entry.
Qualification: A-lister who preferably shares a good equation with Salman Khan. After all, it is the actor who will take the final call on the ten women who will get to star in the sequel to the 2005 comedy hit No Entry.
Salman, who is famous for his micromanagement of every aspect of the filmmaking process, according to sources, have decided to be the casting engineer for this one. “He wants only A-list names to be cast in the film,” added the source close to Salman.
In fact, when we asked the filmmaker why it was taking so much time to finalise the names of the ten ladies, he reiterated the actor’s diktat. “It can’t be anything but the best girls. Just because there’re ten girls in our film we can’t fill up the roles with whoever is available. It has to be established names in all the roles,” said Anees and added, “This is a very special film for Salman. It’s his first double role since Judwaa and the first sequel of his career. So everything has to be twice as grand as No Entry. We haven’t been able to decide on any of the girls as yet. Because we want only the best. We’re in the process of drawing up a list of possibilities. Then we’ll take a call.”

Reason: Many - 1. Ek Tha Tiger and its multiple digit box office collection. 2. Her equation with Salman (He gifted her a new car for her birthday, remember?). 3. She has already worked with Anees in Welcome, which was a hit.
Kareena Kapoor
Reason: Post Heroine, it would be nice to see her in a lighthearted comedy. She is a great friend of Salman and self admittedly can’t say ‘No’ to him. Also, she would want to build a film bank for her career post marriage.
Priyanka Chopra
Reason: Reportedly she can’t work with one Khan any longer. So, landing a role with the other would be nice. Also, she has been trying hard to patch up with Salman for a long time.
Sonakshi Sinha
Reason: A blockbuster Dabangg with the actor.
Anushka Sharma
Reason: After a string of romances, a comedy would be a fresh change for the actress.
Deepika Padukone
Reason: She has said that she wants to work in a film with Salman. And after her performance in Cocktail, a comedy would be a good change.
Sonam Kapoor
Reason: Her father Anil Kapoor is already in the film. A father-daughter first venture may work for the film.
Asin
Reason: She has several 100-crore-films to her name. Ready - Anees’ last with Salman and the actress was one of them.
Zarine Khan
Reason: She was a part of Ready too
Angela Jonsson
Reason: Her first break (Sher Khan) is all thanks to Salman. Why not the second?

Just when the entire Bollywood fraternity and fans are going gaga over Salman Khan’s super duper hit Ek Tha Tiger, there’s one BollywoodLife reader who has posted a list of the actor’s all-time flops. MHK, as our reader is called, has painstakingly typed out 49 films of Salman that were duds, in the comments box of the Ek Tha Tiger box office story.
He has even added a punch in the end, complete with a smiley, saying: “We are now eagerly waiting for his half century” and has wished the hunky heartthrob the best of luck. This lad MHK is either a keen industry observer or a big Shahrukh Khan fan. Or is he simply a cynical reader? We don’t know.
But do us a favour: go through the list of Salman’s flops and tell us if you agree with MHK’s record of the Bodyguard star’s career. Or better still, post a reply to MHK! Here is the list:
