Shahrukh Khan weaves his magic yet again and the company to be profited by his ‘Midas touch’ is none other than Linc pens. We hear Shahrukh has renewed the brand endorsement contract with Linc pens and has inked the deal for one more year.

Apparently the news is that the management at Linc pens is way too happy with the way their sales are skyrocketing ever since Khan saab has scribbled a few words on television with their brand of pens. Therefore they have decided to cash on Shahrukh Khan to keep increasing their brand visibility.

The suave gentlemanly brand ambassador, Shahrukh Khan comments, “It has been wonderful being a part of the Linc team for the past year and I am glad to continue the association. Over the years, Linc is one of the most trusted brands in the Indian writing pen industry and I am happy to be associated with the Linc family.”

Looks like someone is giving Ranbir Kapoor a run for his money for the ‘Salesman of the year title’!

Georgetown University in USA has come out with a list of 500 of the world's most influential Muslims, including Shahrukh Khan, former Indian President A P J Abdul Kalam, and composer A R Rahman. A chat with SRK on how he feels about being in that list:

How do you feel on being the only one from the entertainment world being selected in the top 500 besides A R Rahman?
I don't think a list of this nature is of a competitive type to feel proud about. It's not about a list of awards that I have won. I am a Muslim by birth and because of the kind of cinema I do, I assume must be influencing lives of people across the world. I have been actively working in the film industry for 18 years and my work has gone across the world, my films and done well in many places including Germany, Poland, Dubai, USA, Morocco and South East Asia. People know me well because of my films but I never felt that I was different. I'm in the field of mass communication and am doing my work. That's it.

Why do you feel you were chosen?
I think it could be because of the kind of films I do. I try to do films that have variety and are about goodness and hope. They give a direction to a life. I have done films on romances to patriotic dramas like Chak De! and funny entertainers like Om Shanti Om — films that try to give a kind of positive message to people. I hope in this I am able to influence the lives of many, especially youngsters and children. It's about giving some kind of direction to their lives. Like I might tell my children to study hard or teach them how to lead a good life.

What do you feel is your contribution as an educated liberal Muslim in the world today?
These are categories I am not comfortable with as I don't think I have done much to justify the tags. Though I am very proud to be a Muslim and an educated and liberal one at that, I am immensely proud to be Indian. I have very strong views on religion and how people should behave but that's about it. I just do my work. I truly believe your work defines you. I am not a social activist. I spend time with my family. At the most, I teach my kids to do namaaz and pray to Allah. Maybe I have given neat and clean hits which has given me money and fame but for me it's been like a good regular job. I have chosen to do cinema which has a very positive impact and that's what influences people and gets me the tags.

Your next film is My Name Is Khan. Do you feel it's a more international film which should be seen by all and will have a far-reaching influence?
I have never been a strong advocate for global cinema because I don't think our films turn the tide around though my directors and distributors feel otherwise. Having said that, I will add that MNIK is a very special topic about humanity in the garb of a Muslim character. The basic tenet of any religion — be it of Allah, God or Bhagwan — is that you have to be a good human being and Khan in MNIK is one. The way Karan has handled his love story in a dramatised form is amazing. It's a love story where the character has to overcome obstacles in the path of love and that obstacle is the world view. How he overcomes that to win his love is what MNIK is about. The film is made on a large canvas and made larger with Fox coming on board. The subject material is adapted in terms of humanity in a very entertaining way. And with Karan, the best filmmaker in India today directing the film and Fox distributing it — the message of love, the way it has been shot internationally and the way of releasing it, might have all the possibilities of an international release. It's going to be released in a way no Hindi film has been released internationally before with mega prints and the trailer releasing with Avatar in a first of its kind.

To you, who's the most influential person in the world?
Like every movie star's influence changes with every B-O release, I think even across the globe people's influence changes. Today, there is not just one global influence but a collective of influences. I don't believe the world can be run by one influential person right now. The world has become too intelligent to be demarcated by one person. It's the good thoughts of many. Like Bill Gates, Mukesh Ambani, Obama are very influential and wonderful in their field of work but collectively, they are fantastic.

To you, what is true power or influence?
For me, in means to be able to affect people in a positive manner and bring a smile on their faces. It should be able to affect young minds in a good sense.

MNIK Promo
The first look of Karan Johar's My Name is Khan will be unveiled on Wednesday night at 10 pm across all Star network channels. The three-minute promo will then be given to news channels and other media outlets to broadcast. The theatrical promo is attached with James Cameron's Avatar which releases this Friday.

Being one of the most successful stars in Bollywood brings with itself loads of accolades and awards. This time Shahrukh Khan finds himself in the august company of former Indian President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and Oscar winning composer A.R Rahman. The trio has been included in the list of 'The 500 most influential Muslims in the world' released by Georgetown University, USA.

The actor has been included in the 'Arts and Culture' segment of the list and has been lauded for 'campaigning for better relations between India's Muslim and Hindu communities'. The King Khan, though respectful of the honour, has no qualms in calling himself an Indian first.

We have good news for you. Amidst all the news of star rivalries, Bollywood superstars Shahrukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan are bonding big time. It is said that they are taking their friendship to the next level by co-producing Krrish 3 with Hrithik in the lead role.

Yes, the news is doing the rounds that Shahrukh and Hrithik are jointly producing the Krrish sequel. The film is still in scripting stage and Hrithik's father Rakesh Roshan is likely to direct it.

It won't come as a surprise if Shahrukh'a Red Chillies and Rakesh Roshan's Filmkraft tie up for more films in the days to come, as they share great rapport. Moreover, their wives Gauri Khan and Suzanne Khan get along like a house on fire.

Here is good news for film buffs. The first trailer of Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan is storming the silver screens with the release of the much-hyped Hollywood film Avatar tomorrow (18th December). My Name Is Khan marks the return of the incredible on screen pair Shahrukh Khan and Kajol.

If releasing the trailer with James Cameron's Avatar is not enough, Fox Star, which has bought the distribution rights of My Name Is Khan, is planning to release it in forty countries with 600 prints, (excluding India) on February 12. It will be the first Hindi film to be released with so much prints.

The film is expected to get a huge international market due to Fox Star's strategy of releasing the film in other languages too. It is making big news because Shahrukh and Kajol, who stole the hearts of the people in films like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, are coming together again after a gap of eight years.

Shahrukh Khan was the special guest at the screening of Avatar at a multiplex last evening and liked the film so much so that after just watching half of it he went to the studio officials, requesting them to hold a special screening of the film for his children and family.

Shahrukh was keen on watching Avatar as he likes science fiction and superhero films. He was also eager to attend the screening as the first theatrical promo of My Name is Khan released during Avatar’s screening.

He likes superhero films so much so that he is working on Ra 1, directed by Anubhav Sinha. Meanwhile, he loved Avatar a lot and wanted his children to watch it. His children were busy with school and studies last evening and couldn’t watch it. That’s why he has requested for a special screening of the film. The screening will be held on Saturday and the time and venue is yet to be decided.

Just a few weeks ago, Shahrukh’s children wanted to watch Paa and he had called up Amitabh Bachchan, requesting him for passes.

Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan has belted out many blockbusters but he claimed that the best of him is yet to come. He thinks that his upcoming release My Name Is Khan is his best film ever.

Shahrukh said at the unveiling of My Name Is Khan’s first look that it is the nicest love story he has ever worked in. He added that the film is the physical and emotional journey that the two characters Rizwan (himself) and Mandira (Kajol) go through to find love.

It has been reported that the film deals with terrorism and explores the sudden change in the lives of the protagonists but Shahrukh chose to differ. He said that it is not about terrorism but about love, hope, humanity, sacrifice and positivity. He added that it has nothing to do with religion.

He is all praise for his friend and filmmaker Karan Johar. He said that Karan is an intense director with great sense of humour, who allowed him to improve his performance through mistakes. He added that Kajol, Karan and he don’t have to say things to each other, as they are thorough professional who understands each other completely.

Shahrukh plays an autistic man mistaken for a terrorist in My Name Is Khan. It brings together the incredible screen pair Shahrukh and Kajol after eight long years. The makers of the film are planning to release it on February 12, 2010.

Obviously the paramount question is that whether the SRK-Kajol chemistry works magic again. Yes, it does...Big Time. It seems the duo are meant to fall in love and transmit that love-electricity on celluloid to millions of people across the world.

MNIK promo successfully opens a window to what the basic story is, whips up an engaging drama and leaves you panting for more. Rizwan's (Shahrukh) disability is blanketed by Mandira's (Kajol) overwhelmingly deep affection. How 9/11 changes lives forever and for some strange innocent reason Rizwan wants to meet up with the President Of America. There's a strong resistance and guns blaze on the roads of suspicion.

There are two significant lines that stay with you when the promo is over. First one is: He believed that if you do good deeds...good things will happen to you. And the second is: We are stronger than our fears. It seems that the Writing will be the strong point of My Name Is Khan and undoubtedly Karan Johar is treading a territory that in all probability will enrich the Indian film industry.

The production design looks top notch, cinematography is world class and the look of both Shahrukh and Kajol is different from what we've seen them in before. There's a small section of a song 'Noor-e-Khuda' which comes at the beginning of the promo and it seems Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have redeemed themselves after an average 'London Dreams'. The background score sounds very attractive too.

Kajol's breakdown scene sends chills down your spine. What a volcano of a talent she is. Shahrukh's intense sincerity binds your attention from the first frame of the promo till its last. This may be the turning point in the career of Shahrukh Khan, the fantastic actor, who amazed earlier with magnificence in Chak De India. It goes without saying that the First Look promo of My Name Is Khan whets your appetite for the real thing. One of the finest First Look promos in recent times.

One of the best known friendships of Bollywood seems to be dying a slow death. Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan are falling apart. A few days back Farah had ousted Shahrukh from her movie Tees Maar Khan and replaced him with Akshay Kumar. The latest buzz in the tinsel town is that King Khan has now hit her back and refused to work with her.

Farah’s husband Shirish Kunder had announced three films with Farah – Tees Mar Khan, Alien Sahib and Joker. The script of Joker was written keeping Shahrukh in mind. Shahrukh has now refused to do the film and Shirish had offered it to John Abraham who loved the role and has given his consent. Interestingly, Shahrukh's Red Chillies Entertainment was to produce the movie.

Farah and Shahrukh had fallen apart because of Farah's hubby Shirish. Shahrukh had dumped her husband Shirish from his home production Zoya Factor over creative difference. Farah hit back dropping him from Tees Maar Khan. Shahrukh refusing Joker is the latest episode in fight. It will be interesting to see the chemistry between Shahrukh and Farah in their next movie Happy New Year.

Farah Khan rubbished rumours of having rift with her best buddy Shahrukh Khan. Farah was spotted with Shahrukh's wife Gauri during the screening of James Cameron's Avatar. The special screening was organised by Fox Star Studio for Shahrukh’s family and he made sure that all his friends were invited. Among those present during the screening were Farah Khan, Karan Johar and Javed Akhtar.

It was reported earlier that Shahrukh had walked out of Farah's Joker after the Om Shanti Om director had dropped him from her upcoming movie Tees Maar Khan and cast Akshay Kumar in his place. This after Shahrukh had dumped Farah's husband Shirish Kunder from his home production Zoya Factor. Farah will be directing Shahrukh in her next movie Happy New Year.

Mamta Mohandas has refused a Bollywood film recently where she was to pair with Shahrukh Khan. Mamta was offered a role by Farah Khan for her upcoming movie titled Happy New Year opposite Shahrukh. But Mamta is said to refuse the offer politely.

Its really an eye shrinking act taken by an actress to deny an offer from Bollywood to pair opposite SRK. Being a debutant, Mamta might have thought it wise to start with someone less experienced and then move on to bigger stars. Anyways hope that she will meet with the same kind of golden chance again in future. But indeed its a brave decision Mamta! She is currently having two films in Malayalam- Nirakazhcha and Anwar.

After a rift that lasted only a few weeks, Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan are friends again. Farah accompanied by her triplets visited Mannat and sorted out the differences with Shahrukh. They will be soon seen working together. Shahrukh had earlier refused to do her movie Joker after she had replaced him with Akshay Kumar for Tees Maar Khan. Akshay is probably the last person Shahrukh would want to be be replaced with and was thus hurt by Farah's move.

Farah was earlier upset with Shahrukh when he had dropped her husband Shirish Kunder as director for his home production Zoya Factor. Shahrukh has also been delaying her Happy New Year which left Farah with no choice but to replace him in Tees Maar Khan. Farah and Shahrukh's association goes a long way when she choreographed the movie Dilwale Dulhnaiya Le Jaayenge. So all's well between Farah and Shahrukh as of now and together they will soon say Happy New Year

It is not very often that the Three Khans are present under one roof but that is exactly what the premiere of Raj Kumar Hirani directed 3 Idiots will have. As Bollywood fans await the release of the movie on December 25th the industry circles are looking forward to seeing the three Khans together. Add to this superstar Amitabh Bachchan who has also accepted the invitation to attend the premier, you won't get a bigger Bollywood event.

Sources close to Aamir Khan say that he personally called up Shahrukh Khan and requested him to be present in the premier and SRK generously confirmed his presence. Salman Khan too gave his consent without any hesitation as he has been bonding with with Aamir Khan off late. The Vidhu Vinod Chopra movie is being touted to break records at the Box Office. Besides Aamir the movie stars Kareena Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, Madhavan and Boman Irani.

Whether Shahrukh Khan used a Linc pen to sign on the dotted line when Linc Pen renewed its contract with the superstar for a further one year, may not be known. But what is known is that the company is very happy with its brand ambassador.

According to the company’s spokesperson, Linc's national share has grown and this year they are already growing sales at 15% as compared to 7% last year. It seems not just in films, Shahrukh seems to be in synch with the public even when it comes to Linc pens. So while on one hand a big cola brand like Pepsi has dropped SRK as their brand ambassador, the King Khan is still a mega favourite many other brands.

Can you believe it? Marathi film, Harishchandrachi Factory, India’s current nomination for Oscar Awards, 2010, would have been produced under Shahrukh Khan’s production house, Red Chillies Entertainment. But then fate had other plans!

Reveals an insider, “Paresh Mokashi, the director of Harishchandrachi Factory’s director, had approached Juhi Chawla hoping a backing for his debut project. Doing the needful, Juhi forwarded this project to her ex-partner, Shahrukh Khan’s company, Red Chillies Entertainment. Perhaps, Shahrukh was not even aware of the fact- his creative team didn’t even consider the film because it was to be made in Marathi, and Marathi films were not exactly on their agenda at that point of time. So naturally, Paresh had to face rejection yet again like he had been facing from everywhere else. All this led him to sell his house and fulfilled his dream to make the film.

A friend of Juhi reveals to us, Juhi still can’t forget the passion Paresh had back then in his eyes. "He was so charged that it should come as a surprise to anyone that he has made a film the way he wanted it to be." the source concludes.
